SOTW - August
Wildfire - Fuse
This song made Song Of The Week 3rd August.
Ephesians 2:8 (NIV) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Wildfire is written about those times in our lives where our adoration for God takes over and all we want, in that moment, is to be consumed by His unfailing love. God has done so many amazing things for each and every one of us. Those moments where we realise this are moments where we can’t help but worship Him!
As I Am - Hillsong Young & Free
This song made Song Of The Week 10th August.
Romans 5:8 (TPT) “But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!”
‘As I Am’ exaggerates the importance that everyone is welcome at the table of God regardless of your race, gender, age or history. God accepts you how you are. Knowing who you are on the earth in God’s name and also in His presence. All of our wrongs get left at the cross when we realise and accept that God loves us regardless of what has happened in our lives, or what we have done.
Echoing Holy - Elias Dummer
This song made Song Of The Week 17th August.
Revelation 4:8 (ESV) “...Holy Holy Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come”
Echoing Holy is about how Christians today are echoes of what is happening in heaven, here on earth. In worship we always have the idea that it is between us and God, (yes it is), but at the same time, when we worship we are a part of the echoes of all that is going on in heaven!
Everlasting Light - Mosaic MSC
This song made Song Of The Week 24th August.
Isaiah 60:20 (NLT) “Your sun will never set; your mood will not go down. For the Lord will be you everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end.”
Sometimes the bad days can feel forever, but those times and those seasons do have an end. Mosaic MSC wanted this song to be a reminder that those places are temporary, and that there is an end to it, and the light that God provides is everlasting. Jesus creates us a new reality for the world that we are living in right now.
Perfect God - KJ Scriven
This song made Song Of The Week 31st August.
Psalm 18:30 (TPT) “What a God you are! Your path for me has been perfect! All your promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in you! You are the wrap-around God giving grace to me.”
Perfect God is about us as children of God wanting to find the adequate amount of praise and adoration for God. But God has done so much good for us and is perfect in so many ways that our adoration could never amount to everything that He has done for us - so we continue to pour out our worship for Him for this exact reason.
