SOTW - September

Beyond - Motion Worship

This song made Song Of the Week 2nd September

Psalm 9:10 (NLT)

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, Do not abandon those who search for you.”

Motion Worship’s song ‘Beyond’ is a worship song about God’s almighty power and how He is so beyond what we can even imagine. This song was written by Motion Worship as a reminder of the great expectations that God is calling us to. His powerful presence being able to take us beyond our human senses of sight and feeling, awakening us to all that He is calling us to be.

Everything Everything - Elevation Rhythm

This song made Song Of The Week 9th September

Psalm 91:4 (NLT)
“He will cover you with His feathers, He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armour and protection.”

Elevation Rhythms first song Everything Everything is a testament to truth we believe as Christians that God is our ultimate protector and that however fearful we are feeling, God is going to make sure that everything is going to be alright. It can sometimes seem that fear has a hold on everything, but fear is something that enemy uses to make us feel weak. God has already won the victory over the enemy so fear has no hold on anything. Our protection from this, found in Psalm 91, is the faithfulness of His promises to us. “There’s nothing like falling straight into the arms of the Father. Here in Your presence I’m caught in a love like no other.”

Way Maker - Leeland

This song made Song Of The Week 16th September

John 14:6 (NLT)

“... Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.””

Romans 8:28 (NLT)

“ And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

Way Maker by Leeland is a take on the original song by Sinach. It is all about how all we can do is show our praise and worship to God as He is making a way and keeping His promises to us. It also proclaims how He is always constant in our lives, even if it doesn’t seem like he is. “Even when I don’t see it you’re working, even when I don’t feel it you’re working. You never stop you never stop working…”

Fix My Eyes - Stephanie Rose

This song made Song Of The Week 23rd September

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Fix My Eyes began on a songwriting retreat with a few friends in a time of worship. There was space for people to sing out and Steph found herself singing a tag about fixing our eyes on Jesus. In that moment a few people recognised something special in the tag and afterwards we began to work on making it into a full song. The season of life she was in felt busy, rushed and distractions were hard to avoid, but Steph felt the Lord wanting to remind her of the one thing He calls us to do in the midst of chaos - fix our eyes on Him.
